Do you suffer from anxiety?

Anxiety is a common but very limiting condition which can severely impact your physical and emotional well-being and affect your overall quality of life if untreated.

What causes anxiety?

Lots of things can cause you to feel anxious. The causes might be specific, such as social situations or large crowds. These can easily become phobias, such as agoraphobia: fear of large open spaces.

But we can also feel anxious over a longer period of time over things like money, work stress, job security, poor health, loneliness and so on. Gradually these things can erode your confidence and self-esteem, and snowball, increasing the feelings of anxiety.

How does hypnotherapy for anxiety work?

You experience these symptoms because your brain is being overprotective of you.  Hypnosis helps you get control of these symptoms and make changes to how you think and feel about the things that cause you to feel anxious.

When you are in hypnosis, the first thing you will notice is that you feel  physically relaxed and emotionally calm. Most importantly, you will feel in control of your physical and mental state.

Doing this regularly sends a message to your subconscious mind that it doesn’t need to overprotect you. A hypnotherapist can reinforce this by giving you reassuring, empowering suggestions that go straight to your subconscious mind. Result: decreased anxiety at first, and ultimately none at all!

    It’s really interesting how you mention that a hypnotherapist can reinforce the message that your subconscious mind doesn’t need to overprotect you. My wife suffers from anxiety and it can really affect how she lives her life because she feels like she is being controlled by her anxiety. I think going to a hypnotherapist would give her a different way to calm herself, so thanks for sharing!
